This means an open
and honest valuer won't get much business from people wanting to hype their
domain name prior to auction. Unfortunately this seems to be a major use
of valuation sites! The second big problem with this "be nice policy" is
that it also hurts the quality of the reseller domain list which often accompanies
the valuation site. We at Tangy.com pride ourself in listing no overpriced
domain names on our resale list. |

 |
In fact the Tangy.com valuation
model will insult even premier names. We've arranged our database with
a checklist of over thirty categories of the good and the bad in any domain
name we submit to it for rating. It's actually impossible for any name
to escape being labelled with some defect; and this has always been the
case in the 'real world' with any business name. For instance if your
business name is the generic 'car sales' people will recognise what you're
selling, and might be more likely to remember you, but you will find getting
peoplw to remember your company more difficult, as the name is not distinctive.
That's why the usual four-part analysis of domain valuation is simply
not adequate. You need yet more devilish detail!

We will let you
in on a few of these additional criteria which we use to rate names which
make the Tangy.com resale list. |
